Vaag Vatika Publishers ("we," "us," "our") publishes this website to share information about our books and authors. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit, why, and the choices you have — including visitors outside India, since we advertise our books to readers worldwide. This is a plain-language summary of our practices, not a substitute for legal advice.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly. If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you type. We use this only to reply to you — it is sent by email and is never used for advertising or shared with a third party.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider logs standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and performance. If you accept cookies (see below), Google and Meta also collect aggregate usage data — which pages you view, which buttons you click, and general device/location information. We do not send them your name, email, phone number, or any contact-form content. See "Cookies and tracking technologies" below for exactly what is sent.

Cookies and tracking technologies

On your first visit, a small banner asks you to Accept or Reject analytics and advertising cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser (not as a cookie itself, but in local storage) so we don't ask again. If you Reject, none of the tools below load and no tracking cookies are set. If you Accept, we use:

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — measures page views and on-site actions (such as which book page you viewed or which "Buy" button you clicked) in aggregate, so we can understand what visitors find useful.
• Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — measures the same kind of on-site actions so we can understand the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram advertising and show our books to people likely to be interested in them.
• Google Tag Manager (GTM) — a container we use to manage tags; it is currently reserved for future Google Ads campaign measurement and does not itself collect additional data beyond the above.

The events we send to these tools are limited to: the page you're on, the book title/category involved, the text and destination URL of the button you clicked (for example "Buy on Amazon.com"), and which platform a purchase link points to (Amazon, Google Play, etc.). We never send names, email addresses, phone numbers, or the content of the contact form to Google or Meta.

Google and Meta act as independent data processors for this aggregated usage data, may store it on servers outside your country (including in the United States), and apply their own retention periods — typically up to 14 months for GA4 and per Meta's own policy for Pixel data. Their practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.

Your consent choices

You can change your mind at any time. Clicking below clears your stored choice and shows the cookie banner again so you can Accept or Reject.

You can also block cookies and local storage entirely through your browser settings, and opt out of personalised advertising directly with Google Ads Settings and Meta Ad Preferences.

Advertising to a global audience

We run Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns to reach readers internationally. If you interact with one of those ads and later visit this site, Meta may associate that visit with the ad for measurement purposes, under the consent rules described above. We do not use retargeting data to build profiles beyond standard ad-platform reporting, and we do not sell visitor data to anyone.

Outbound links

Our Buy and Sample buttons link to third-party stores (such as Amazon and Google Play Books). Those sites have their own privacy policies, which govern any account you create or purchase you make there — we do not receive purchase details from those stores.

Data retention

Contact-form emails are kept only as long as needed to respond to and resolve your enquiry. Aggregated analytics/advertising data is retained by Google and Meta under their own default retention windows, noted above; we do not separately store or export that data.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for a general adult and young-adult readership and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you (such as a contact-form message), and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. Because we send no personal information to Google or Meta, requests about analytics/advertising data are best made directly through the opt-out links above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website or our tools change. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
